PROVIDING EDUCATION AND INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY
Boy Scouts
Hunting Venture Crew 508
Lincoln Youth Sports, in cooperation with the Boy Scouts of America, has established a Venture Group for the development of young men and women. This group is designed to provide positive experience for today's youth and allow them to mature and prepare to become responsible and caring adults. By allowing Venture members to participate in organized hunting activities, Lincoln Youth Sports hopes to provide leadership opportunities and establish dynamic relationships between those individuals involved in the Venture crew.
Joining the Hunting Venture Crew 508
All members of Venture Crew 508 must first become members of Lincoln Youth Sports. More information on joining Lincoln Youth Sports can be found on the Membership page.
All Venture Crew 508 applicants must pay an additional $10 fee, unless they have already paid a $10 fee to BSA for the calendar year. (This $10 portion is sent to BSA from LYS.)
What is Venturing?
The Boy Scouts of America's Venturing Division was established to provide a resource program for young adults that is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders. The Venturing program matches participants 14 through 20 years of age who have completed the 8th grade with members of local community organizations of similar interests with the hopes of allowing youth to pursue special interests, develop leadership skills, and become outstanding citizens.
The Venture program is designed to allow youth to acquire skills in the areas of high adventure, sports, arts and hobbies, or youth ministries. Through Lincoln Youth Sports' hunting Venture group, participants will develop a degree of self-reliance based on courage, initiative, and resourcefulness. It is also Lincoln Youth Sports' goal to instill a sense of respect for others in each and every member of Venture Crew 508.
